The Covid-19 pandemic has compounded the already complex needs of the most vulnerable people currently engaging, or seeking to engage, with Foyer services. It has also given rise to a new set of needs for those previously managing their lives without support.
We need funding to provide crisis support to young people and adults across the city who face multiple and complex barriers to living their lives well including: homelessness/risk of homelessness; poverty (including in work poverty) poor mental health, long term unemployment, lone parents, care experienced young people, young people disengaged from education; isolation; digital exclusion.
Aberdeen Foyer received £12,250to support disadvantaged young people and adults. They provided food, fuel top-ups, digital kit, baby supplies and self-care packs for 176people who had lost their support networks, were experiencing new and increased anxieties, with many at increased risk of isolation and abuse.
Any gift you can make, large or small, can have a huge impact on the lives of many. Businesses, associations and private individuals are being urged to support this appeal and donate whatever they can now.Donate
