Losing a baby at any time is difficult but the impact ofCOVID-19 crisis has been particularly challenging for families as the feelings of isolation whilst grieving for their lost baby is immense. People need the support from Sands more than ever as many parents are unable to get physical support from family and friends.
This has posed a challenge for our charity as we are unable to provide support in the way we would normally do by hosting support meetings and face to face meetings therefore we have had to change the way support is provided.
Aberdeen Sands has seen an increase in demand for our bereavement support services as the pandemic has impacted on the ability for bereaved parents to spend time with their babies making precious memories, and has created extreme difficulties in arranging funerals and accessing crucial support and information.
Aberdeen SANDS received £150 to provide support to bereaved parents and families. Due to the restrictions they adapted their service to support 19 parents through online meetings and information posted to families.
Any gift you can make, large or small, can have a huge impact on the lives of many. Businesses, associations and private individuals are being urged to support this appeal and donate whatever they can now.Donate
