Nepalese community are mostly involved in low paid jobs working in restaurants and cleaning services. They have had a negative impact on their income due to covid-19 restrictions and reduction of working hours.
Organisation for Nepalese Culture and Welfare received £3,000 to support people in the community, including ex Gurkha families. Food parcels and hot meals were provided for 65 people and 6families received hardship payments.
We have delivered food items to 59 people including ex Gurkha families. Likewise, we have delivered cooked food items to 6 persons. Similarly, hardship payments were provided to 6 people/ household who were financially at risk. Hardship payments was provided to the to the people who faces greater financial difficulties due to covid restrictions. Similarly, wealso provided counselling to Nepalese community in regard to difficulties they face due to covid issues. Counselling was more focused on directing towards services of hospital and mental health.
